Once great, now in great decline.

Saint Louis, MO (US)

Current Employee – been working at Monsanto Company full-time for more than 8 years

ProsSome of the benefits, and vacation.

ConsPre-2007, there was very little noticeable politics. It got progressively worse to where there is politics everywhere from the foot soldiers to the generals. In general, there seems to be a lack of integrity and basic respectful communication among employees as of the last two years. The addition of younger brash kids to get extensive work done at poor quality and for a pittance hasn't helped foster a professional work environment either. In my opinion, these negative attitudes could be top-down, since the change has been gradual since 2007/08. In terms of your career growth, the most important thing to note is that hires and promotions are light years from being transparent. Hard skills and soft skills (communication initiative leadership tendencies etc) alone will NOT get you places.

Advice to Senior Management1) Take genuine interest in your employees. 2) Be fair to ALL employees.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
