    I worked at Microsoft

    Pros

Paid well. Company looks extremely good on the resume. Campus is absolutely gorgeous and the flexibility that came with the job was fantastic.

    Cons

Contractors are treated like second class citizens which lends to an overall horrible company culture. If you want to enjoy San Francisco by living there, the commute is a bit of a killer. It's sad watching companies get bought as the employees get laid off in waves leaving a ghost crew for years to come.

I have been working at Microsoft full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good money, some places have very interesting work, but one has to look hard for them. You get to work with some incredibly smart people, and affect lives of millions. Or at least that's how it used to be.

    Cons

Politics. Suddenly the whole team goes down the drain, and you have to jump off really fast if you don't want to get stuck in sewer for a long time.
Compensation is getting less and less competitive with time.
Upper management is not very bright or competent, everything worthy is done despite them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just go away, and let innovative people take over.
