Great company in early days but became a very impersonal corporation.

Management team lacks vision and class.

Go back to caring about your employees and do a better job of eliminating incompetent managers.

I have been working at MasterCard

    Pros

    Work/life balance
Great commute for those living in Westchester

    Cons

Too many people have been here forever who are set in their ways and unwilling to allow innovative thinking.
If someone sticks around long enough they become a manager - even if they are not qualified.
Newcomers are not made to feel welcome by people who have been here for a long time.
Having worked in other large companies, the talent at MC does not compare. People stay here because they can't go anywhere else!
Not a place for people who are driven.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a hard look at the people who have been here for 20+ years and ask yourself if they are here because they are bright & talented or because they have learned how to work the system and are not willing to work as hard as they would have to if they were to start someplace new. Better yet, COULD they get another job? Would you hire them now if they weren't already part of the organization?

We will never take the lead if our managers are from an old school network and are setting the tone of how things are done here - processes that are 20+ years old are not going to bring us to the top.
