    Flexible working conditions (while they last)

    Cons

    Massive outsourcing initiative annouced that will take effect in 2013 with most jobs moving offshore to India

    Diminishing benefits packages

    Non-technical leadership running the IT division, and making sweeping technology reforms

    Brain-drain as top technical talent flee for opportunities elsewhere

    I worked at Marriott as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

    Gives me something to talk about in future interview

    Cons

    -worked endless hours (several 19 hour shifts)
    -No respect from management
    -Several times it seemed like Management didn't even know how to do their job
    -Would never get breaks for meal times and would often go full days without eating
    -My time card and pay stubs were often altered and there were several times I didn't get paid for overtime
    -All around a horrible company who treats their employees like dogs. Definitely do not live up to their philosophy

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take the time to actually listen to your employees instead of constantly yelling at them. What they have to say is important and how you treat them reflects back on your customer/guest service
