Good but, not for the ambitious

Subcontract Administrator (Former Employee) Sunnyvale, CA (US)

ProsWork life balance. Every other Friday off, even if you don't take them you can earn the overtime or comptime.

Stable, when things are great elsewhere they are only ok at Lockheed Martin and, when things are poor elsewhere they are still ok at Lockheed Martin.

Usually a place where if you are competent you can work there for the rest of your life.

ConsNot a place to go unless you are an engineer. This is an engineering company and always will be and non engineers will always be at a disadvantage when it comes to moving past the Senior Management position

Low pay com, low level of advancement for new and younger employees.

Large company plus, large company minuses

Senior Systems Engineer (Current Employee) San Jose, CA (US)

I have been working at Lockheed Martin

Pros: Lateral movement within the company is no only easy, but encouraged. However one has to take the initiative in… Cons: Is very by the book in terms of vertical movement. Hard and fast rules about minimum years of experience for each level of employment. As… Advice to Senior Management: Reach out even more to younger employees Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More

Not a company I respect or am proud to work for

Systems Engineer (Current Employee) Denver, CO (US)

I have been working at Lockheed Martin

Pros: It's hard to get fired unless you violate security procedures… Cons: Much bureacracy and red tape, innovation is stifled. Major salary compression, lousy annual raises. Too many processes, things that make total business sense… Advice to Senior Management: Major change is needed and not happening quickly enough. Middle managers are lousy and don't execute visions of executive management. Need… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
