Pros

Work life balance, you get to work with a lot of knowleglible individuals, there are a lot of opporunities for growth, multiples opporunities to move around from job to job and city and/or state.

Cons

There is a lot of competition. Due to the nature of the job sometimes you may have to work longer hours than expected.

Advice to Management

It takes a long time to get into a management position here and LMMFC, however, they seem to place the right leaders in the right places.

    Pros

Great benefits and overall good internal customers to work with. Good mission work.

    Cons

Poor Internal Operational leadership. If one is working in a non-billable position within the company, it's about control and not about doing the right thing by your internal customer and what's right for the business. Way too much cat fighting and napoleon complexes. Lot's of bullying tactics in the workplace. No inclusion, collaboration, team playing and transparency. It's about ONLY the bottom-line and not about the people as the benefits would make one think. Leadership can be less than willing to allow one to take time off when needed.

Not a strong resource in place to help one find work when contract comes to an end. The employee is on their own.

Difficult to navigate through the company. Too many road blocks.

    Advice to Management

Check your egos at the door and start treating people like human beings with professionalism. Start valuing your staff. Do more of "doing the right thing" vs. control your internal client and less slavery treatment of staff. If this can be accomplished, your internal customer will look to you more like an expert in your field vs. a hindrance full of a lot of hot air. Plus, your staff will start respecting and trusting you.

    Pros

Education benefits are good, Lockheed Martin values continuing education and skill building.

    Cons

Work is highly project based. Some contracts are real old and feel archaic.

    Advice to Management

Management tends to rely heavily on subcontractors.
