Former Employee – worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory full-time for more than 3 years

Pros – Great pay, really smart and dedicated co-workers. Lots of opportunities to learn and do more things.

Cons – The politics can be tough to navigate. There are some who will make getting things done difficult in order to protect their territory. Shift from management from the University of California to the consortium has taken away a bit of the charm.

Advice to Senior Management – Provide more clear career paths for younger employees. Look to root out those who put politics before good science.
