I have been working at IBM

    Pros

Excellent work environment. You have your own office. Good cafeteria and onsite gym. Interactions with graduate students intern every summer.

    Cons

Most annoying thing is bureaucracy. For every small thing we need to get permission from the management which can take weeks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve the interaction with senior management. Salary is good to start with but should improve more with experience as in other software companies.

    I worked at IBM

    Pros

IBM once was a powerhouse in all aspects of corporate culture, respect for the individual, job growth, security, stability and professionalism. Not the staid, blue suit mentality, but a company that is constantly reinventing itself.

    Cons

Outsourcing has eroded the business and damaged the image.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider the philosphies that made people proud to be an IBMer. Reward loyalty and do not tolerate mediocrity.
