I have been working at IBM as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

IBM has a spectacular team. Everyone you work with is incredible. The company has an incomparable track record of innovation. The work/life balance is better than I've ever seen elsewhere. A lot of work can be done remotely.

Cons

With remote working, many people do not come into the office. This means you don't get to experience the excitement of a busy office or the physical company of your colleagues. If you thrive off human interaction in the work environment this could be considered a con.

I worked at IBM as an intern

    Pros

    + Support for career-oriented employees
    + Variety of opportunities
    + reasonable salary
+ immediate, direct and honest feedback
+ access to a many knowledge resources
    + global-oriented

    Cons

    - Loose connection to other teams
    - Heavy-weight, partly very slow support processes,
    - Feeling of being anonymous
    - Requires adaption to IBM-way of doing business - limits creativity and entrepreneurial ideas

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1) Encourage entrepreneurship within the company providing for more and stronger ownership
    2) Establish high-performer units and take the burden of bureaucracy from them, letting them focus on what they can do best: acquire business and carry out successful projects. The client will sincerely appreciate this. Thank you!
