People are treated as commodities and not invested in; compensation low compared to peers cos.

Client Executive (Current Employee)

ProsAbility to get a broad base of experience(s). Overall great coworkers...middle management has no ability to do anything expect inspect everything. Too many people, in sales roles, working form home and claiming credit for stuff versus making it happen.

ConsBureaucracy, constant micromanagement, too many people get paid on sales deals that have nothing to do with them.

Advice to Senior ManagementRewarded the true performers.

IBM GBS offers a very hostile working environment and there is not compensation either financially or career-wise

Associate Project Manager (Current Employee) São Paulo, São Paulo (Brazil)

I have been working at IBM

Pros: Stability, biggest IT firm in the world, looks good on… Cons: Bad communication, managers with absolutely no people skills, sales/profit orientation with no regard to what the client really needs, too many lines of report internally… Advice to Senior Management: Pay attention to the people immediately under your responsibility, be more… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More

I have been working at IBM

Pros: Flexible work schedule which is supported by immediate management. … Cons: Limited opportunities for professional advancement. Offshoring of US jobs which creates continuous anxiety and makes one wonder "will my job be offshored next." … Advice to Senior Management: Revisityand embrace the principles fostered by Thomas Watson which once… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
