Pros

Advantages of a large company such as good benefits and enough resources to support the work. Good policy allowing for moving to another position within the company.

Cons

Too much bureaucracy. Not enough communication. Too much emphasis on profitability and growth. Too much time spent tracking time. Salary freezes and downsizing when things aren't going well.

    Pros

It's a great company to work for. They believe in promoting within and you are able to drive your career.

    Cons

Salary ranges are not available to the public. This can be sometimes discouraging knowing that people can come in at different salaries and not know what the salary range is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I believe the management here on this account can be more people friendly.

    Pros

good individual people who mean well

    Cons

HP Software has some of the worst management I have seen. It is true that D Managers hire D players. Cumbersome processes. Top talent not appreciated. It is all about who you know and if you are in the bay area. Some of the worst decisions that I have seen management make (ivory tower and out of touch with reality).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace most of the top level management (below the Software CEO). Treat your top talent well so that they can become company advocates and ambassadors. if things do not change HP will continue to attract bad management and spiral to oblivion
