    Pros

You get lots of paid vacation and you can work from home

    Cons

Everything! Nothing works at hsbc, if you do want to work hard and do a good job, this is not the place for you, you will be frustrated at hsbc. Most people pretend they work and nothing gets done. London rules everything, meetings are lengthy and get you nowhere. Promotions happen if you become friends with the right people not based on what and how you do things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change all the useless internal rules, start to respect people, get rid off the HR department

Former Employee - HTSA Intern in Hong Kong (Hong Kong)

I worked at HSBC Holdings as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    1. "Family" based; if you have worked there before, you will most definitely be considered again.
    2. Relatively competitive salary compensation
    3. Offers a lot of on-the-job training courses

    Cons

    1. Very bureaucratic. Getting anything done there takes a long time.
    2. If you are only interning, you generally don't have much access to helping out with anything besides cleaning up old Excel files
    3. Although there are on-the-job training courses, most of it is not relevant to the work you will be assigned to, if you are assigned anything at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Should make decisions about internship application statuses quicker
    2. Should be better prepared to assign work for interns, especially during the first week

    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO
