Former Employee - Line Take Off Forklift Op/Shipping Loader in Surrey, BC

I worked at Georgia-Pacific Corporation full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

I previously state Geogia Pacific take their safety to the highest level. As well as in a greviance situation there is always a fair compromise usually worked out.

Cons

Biggest concern I have for the local Plant - Edmonton Alberta, they had no problem letting the facility go on s six month strike, while management was force to run the board line/crossing the picket line.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more consistent with knowing the ground floor workers. Remember, U hired human being with different stories to life and really try to understand: you work with what you get. Maximize this realization and the crew dynamics go up and so does work effort/attitude.

Former Employee - Project Engineer Intern in Muskogee, OK (US)

I worked at Georgia-Pacific Corporation as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Good pay, Good entry level experience, Good people to work with, Seemed to treat employees well, Good place to gain experience over a summer.

    Cons

Lack of innovation especially for engineers, Engineers are more like higher paid technicians, Engineer managers are a little difficult to work with at times because they seem to try to implement MBM, but don't always practice what they preach.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Everyone should abide by MBM and it should not be forced on employees. Promotions from what I heard are slim, but if you want to keep talent then you have to pay them or allow them to move up.

I worked at Georgia-Pacific Corporation full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

There are many career opportunities and for the potential to learn from peers, mentors, and leaders in many fields and disciplines. It would be a good place to start your career or pursue your next career.

    Cons

The new culture has not been embraced or used by all leaders. There is still a lot of opportunities to do more and the potential to grow to even greater heights.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to learn, promote, and lead MBM.
