Former Employee - District Manager Sales/Service in Grand Rapids, MI (US)

I worked at General Motors full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary and benefits were at one time pretty nice especially if you are in the field with a company car.

    Cons

Company does not know how to train new hires or transferee; and management frequently lacks direction and authority given to sales reps at all levels whether it be contract parts reps or car sales reps.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to and implement what your employees say when they request good ideas. Allow anonymous ideas to be sent to executives--this will be a test of 'is local management listening or not'.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Approves of CEO
