Pros

Some of the sales associates are some real characters - fun, interesting people. You do get to see all the new merchandise first.

Cons

Long hours, low pay, very little real autonomy the upper store management major micro-managers. Overall people are very unhappy with this company and it's been this way for many years, but at least we have jobs and they do pay the sales associate a good hourly rate they just need to maintain their SPH to maintain it.

Advice to Management

I really don't think upper management really cares, they are more concern with the bottom line.

    Pros

Good discount, access to new clothing before customers, some fun co-workers

    Cons

Impossible sales goals. You're expected to follow people around and encourage them to spend more and more, then push them to apply for a credit card. If you don't like that type of environment, this is not for you. There were some employees who were extremely aggressive and move in on a customer you were working with and then "steal" them. Those couple people were the only ones who met their sales goals.

    Advice to Management

Definitely need a better training program. Don't decrease pay because of people not hitting sales goals. Dept. managers need to be on the sales floor so they can witness what people do.

    Pros

The discount was good. Made some friends.

    Cons

Lots of backstabbing, management was poor. Employees are not treated fair. Quotas were too high with little store traffic, so if you do not make your quota they will cut your pay and eventually fire you. Promise to promote but will come up with excuses why you can't be promoted. After working here I never want to work retail again!

    Advice to Management

Treat the associates better, whenever there is a problem on the floor between associates don't just sweep it unser the rug, or just side with your favorite associate you need to hear both sides.
