Student Finance Consultant

Student Finance Consultant (Former Employee)
Tinley Park, IL (US)

I worked at DeVry University full-time for more than 3 years

ProsMy team at that time and helping student find financial resources that would help assist in their education

ConsConsist frictions between academic, registrar and admission. It seemed as if everyone wanted to pass the buck and not take responsibility. In addition, people were starting to do things because it was coming so driven by admission and getting student enrolled and not helping or considered with if Devry was the right fit for that student.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on quality and not dollar signs!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros: For full-time faculty - great schedule; reasonably competitive pay; make sure you work for a good dean -- I am happy to have… Cons: As full-time faculty, you will be teaching a lot more than at a typical research university -- the schedule is still good though. Not… Advice to Senior Management: Encourage research activity; hire more PhD's to be full-time instructors and let the experienced, qualified instructors be creative in… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More
