I have been working at Cox Communications full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Used to really love the people I worked with
If you know the right people, you will have great opportunities to learn + branch out

Cons

Too many contractors taking over previous full time employee jobs
Many people being let go or quitting who were a real asset to Cox
It is frustrating to see new people being brought in who don't know anything about what they're supposed to do and aren't willing to learn.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The people who have been here for 15+ years and really know their stuff are the people we should keep, not let go.

I worked at Cox Communications full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Loved the culture, the people that worked there and the benefits were top. My job expectation were clearly laid out but I had the freedom to explore other aspects of the company as related to my position.

    Cons

Company consistently hired externally for manager jobs, really did little to provide career advancement. New products were typically half baked when launched. Centralized product development had zero real world experience and consistently failed to ask the feet on the street for input when developing products.

    Pros

Employee-centric, decent pay, involved in the community

    Cons

Hard to move up, not your normal corporate culture

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is a critical time to start taking more action to retain top talent and move out some long-timers that struggle with change, or you'll end up with people that produce mediocre results and dissatisfied customers.
