I have been working at Clayton Homes

Pros

CMH offers a guaranteed profit sharing program and the facility is impeccable. The salary is competitive for similar positions outside the industry.

Cons

CMH does not have a lot of experience working with professionals. They treat degreed individuals like production workers. The 2 week vacation program leaves much to be desired and the lack of flex time creates a military school atmosphere. Existing management seems insecure and threatened by professional staff.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You've strengthened the company by hiring a professional staff now listen to them. Treat the staff like professionals and they'll deliver.

Unless you want to work in the good old boy system, do not go to work here, it will be a disappointing experience.

I worked at Clayton Homes full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I worked with a couple really great people who kind of compensated for a ineffective manager and his office pet who had totally separate rules to follow than other employees from dress code to attendance, and those rules were altered almost weekly to fit her needs. She had no sales but got all the advantages as if she did, all sales people were penalized for her lack of production.

    Cons

This manager does not manage professionally, totally changes and disrupts posted schedules on a knee jerk reaction like a 12 year old pouting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be much more selective in your managers, if employees are having an issue and coming to upper management address the issue instead of doing the good old boy sweep it under the rug.
