Stable Company but advancement is limited due to size.

    Pros

Remote working capability allows for a flexible work life balance. The sales force is very driven and willing to help especially with deals. The company does push for a collaborative environment. Great company to have on your resume to move within the Technical industry. Also they have a employee stock program. Certifications are available to all employees and they hold weight in the industry. Overall it is a decent place to work given the

    Cons

Salesforce team gets burnt out fast and the company has cut back things like simple sales force gatherings. If you do not negotiate your pay and title once you get into the company that will be you pay ranking for a while 3 to 5 years. Middle management really has no purpose and they delegate a lot of meaningless items to their reports. if you think you will retired from cisco that will not happen you most likely there will be a layoff and you will be effected. Cisco is ranked 90 out of 100 best companies to work for and us to be ranked 17th. They are a good company but the culture has changed to the point were if you lucky to get in make sure you take advantage and do alot of stuff to build your resume and move on. Also the company is not diverse and doesn't demonstrate diversity. Our executive do mention this a lot but middle mgmt doesn't not recruite diversity. Instead they higher and promote people they know, family members, and those that look like them. The company is filled with alot of old republican males. And the young people at time clash because of the value systems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With over 30k employees advancement is very limited. As well there is a lot of back stabbing once people leave groups to future their careers. There is no backlash only if you find a top executive that will allow for you to be shadowed.
