Decent management; old technology and slow to change.

I worked at Charles Schwab full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

My manager was easy to get along with and didn't micro manage. Good work/life balance. Covered parking. Free financial advice. Matching 401k up to 5%. Employee stock purchase plan with 15% discount.

    Cons

    1. Stuck on old technology and outdated versions of open source software.
    2. Pet employees get better hardware than others.
    3. A "normal" annual raise doesn't even keep pace with inflation.
    4. You're stuck in a very noisy cubicle farm.
    5. Not much interaction between your coworkers.
    6. Health insurance is a Health Savings Account with a HIGH deductible.
    7. They bring in contractors to work on the latest proof of concept ideas using HTML5, Javascript, etc. while many of the employees are supporting the real world apps that make the business run. This leave no time to increase your skills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay market wages for Austin, TX.
Get rid of the HSA with the high deductible and return to a Preferred Provider plan with copays.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
