A very doubtful future

I have been working at Avaya full-time for more than a year

ProsExcellent people who have a great deal of expertise and professional capability across all functional areas.
Base salary is competitive, though bonus payments, - tied to business results- are rarely qualified for.

ConsNo long term vision of what the company wants to be or achieve. Immediate focus is on achieving a string of profitable quarters in readiness for a IPO and very little else. Cost cutting in the form of staff layoffs is occurring at the end of every Quarter leaving less do do the same amount of work.
Significant turn-over at senior levels leading to lack of consistent direction.
Very hierarchical structure with little to no empowerment to make decisions at lower levels.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Not generating cash, so everything is limited

Pros: Some of the co-workers are really great to work with. Cons: Some of the managers are really terrible to work for. (Some expect 70+ hours per week and at least 16 hours per weekend... it… Advice to Senior Management: Get a clue... get real vision... we're investing in the wrong ideas at the wrong time.
