    Pros

IDOL is the infrastructure of the future to handle any kind of structured and unstructured data. With IDOL every IT process can be intelligent managed! Here is the potential to dominate the software IT market for years.

    Cons

No sales pitch and even worser no sales processes on board. Why do investors accept this? There are people in the senior management have seen only Autonomy in their life. No experiance with state of the art sales processes, customer support or modern marketing. There are some people still proud to have a start up mentalaty in the company. They do not recoginize, that market leaders like IBM, Msft or Oracle set up serious business companies with focused account management supported by localized target product experts. If Autonomy is not able to get this done it will end up in a everage IT software company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a practise year in Oracle to learn how to build a dominating IT infrastructure company. Stop immedately the micro managemend and start thinking big!

I have been working at Autonomy

    Pros

Tremendous company growth to the point of a startup feel. Aggressive senior management that knows how to pursue deals and market and create technically capable products. Technically superior products.

    Cons

The focus on employees takes a distant back seat to the focus on growing the company. Employees are burnt out, recognition and compensation and emphasis on training is generally poor or a mixed bag. There is no real emphasis on creating a working environment where people would want to be. Empowerment and support by upper management to middle management is generally poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show more appreciation to your employees particularly the ones killing themselves to make you successful at all levels.
