Pros

Autonomys IDOL Technologie und die Produkte, die darum herum entwickelt wurden, sind wirklich wettbewerbsfähig, besonders rund um E-Discovery und die Lösungen zur Datenverwaltung. Ihr Marketing war immer sehr gut, fantastisches Material, gute Demos usw. Auch die Unterstützung durch die Pre-Sales-Abteilung war außergewöhnlich stark.

Autonomy's IDOL technology and the products they built around it are really competitive, specifically around the E-Discovery and Information Managment Solutions. Their marketing had always been very good, fantastic material, good demos, etc. Also the support from the Pre-Sales department has been exceptionally strong.

Cons

Die Unternehmenskultur war die schlimmste, die mir je begegnet ist. Menschen wurden nur unter dem Gesichtspunkt von Zahlen betrachtet, das obere Management hörte niemals auf irgendetwas, das von jemandem gesagt wurde, der nicht zu ihrem "Club" gehörte (der z.B. zumindest aus Cambridge kam). Die Vorgesetzten schrien die Mitarbeiter regelmäßig an, beschimpften sie usw. - ein absoluter Albtraum

The corporate culture had been the worst I every experienced. People were purely looked at from a numbers perspective, senior management would never listen to anything they were told from somebody who was not part of their "club" (i.e. at least Cambridge based). Senior managers would regularly shout at employess, call them names, etc. - absolute nightmare

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gott sei Dank hat das obere Management das Unternehmen vollständig verlassen, seit es von HP aufgekauft wurde. Das neue Management sollte den Mitarbeitern ganz klar mehr Respekt entgegen bringen. Außerdem drehte sich der "internationale" Ansatz ausschließlich um GB und die USA. Jeder andere Teil des Geschäfts (regional) wurde übersehen. Das Management sollte anderen Regionen viel mehr Aufmerksamkeit schenken, weil es dort unerschlossenes Potential gibt.

thankfully the senior management has completely left since the acquisition by HP. The new management should clearly pay more respect to their employees. Also the "international" approach has been purely around the UK and the USA. Any other part of the business (regionally) was overlooked. Management should pay a lot more attention to other regions, since there is untapped potential.

    I have been working at Autonomy full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Outsourcing and getting rid of jobs in the Calgary office has really improved things. Only the losers lost their jobs and they had to train their replacements which I think is well-deserved karma on their part. As well, I like the fact that they canceled the waste of time that was the season NHL hockey tickets. And cutting the 24/7 support pay in half was also pretty awesome.

    Cons

    None that I can think of except maybe that there are still a bit too many employees in the Calgary office--hopefully they'll get laid off soon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please lay off more employees. They are an ungrateful lot.

    I worked at Autonomy full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Interesting technology but for the most part, totally oversold. The existing customer base has not been served well and it is impossible to sell again to existing customers due to their poor experience.

    Cons

    Management has been slow to remove the old Autonomy guard. The culture is very much at odds with traditional HP. In short the many of the core solutions do not work or are so heavyweight that it takes an army of consultants to make it work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Integrate Autonomy into HP SW - align the sales teams so there is not so much duplication.
