    Pros

    Great CEO and Engineers
    Lots of intelligent people
    Unique product with great potential

    Total political climate in non-engineering departments
    Promotions and titles are based on affiliation only

    This review is of the Recruiting Department, not the company as a whole.

    The prior recruiter's review is totally true. The Director's response is not. Contract recruiters are brought on at AppDynamics to fill the most difficult roles. There is a culture of complacency that permeates the department. This is not all of the recruiters, but specific individuals. The more positions I filled, and the more I contributed to the company, the more ridicule I received. When a contract recruiter is performing exceptionally well, it poses a threat to forcing a permanent offer. This jeopardizes the current culture remaining intact. Just do a LinkedIn search to discover the number of contract recruiters the company has had between 2013-14. Then, look at the subsequent companies these recruiters ended up at. This crushes the argument of "non-performance".

    There is a degree of immaturity in the department that is condoned by the leadership. This is not everyone in the department, but unfortunately it's the prevailing culture that starts at the top and works its way down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire qualified, professional leadership for your Talent Acquisition Department. Investigate and eliminate the toxic employees.

    Pros

    Great place to work. Leadership is in-tune with employees and marketplace. Product is ever evolving and definitely a leader in the space. Individuals are valued and your opinion is welcomed. Very agile -when things need to change it happens quickly.

    Cons

    Some politics as any place has. Need a bit healthier food in the kitchens but most is good.

    Keep promoting from within, enable your leaders and individual contributors
