“A great national brand to work for in a life-saving field, tempered by fragmented and variable local efforts”
I worked at American Cancer Society full-time
Pros – -Great starting salary, comprehensive benefits, and development programs, employees discounts
-Working with local communities to provide services to those in need
-A very involved, feel-good line of work
Cons – -Deceptively "transformational", many progressive and creative improvements company-wide are inflated
-Workplace environment drastically different between regions
-Very narrow ladder of advancement, whoever hangs around the longest can expect to advance
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your own calls for "transformation" and allow a 100yr old behemoth move into the 21st century.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
