I have been working at Amdocs full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Very good telecom experience acquired, international experience available, strong educational opportunities. Big project experience

Cons

Awful culture, untrusting, difficult at times to work within the cultural aggravation. Annual reviews are a catch 22. Difficult to succeed. Work life balance does not exist. All work, family takes back seat.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care a little more about turnover. Begin to change culture. Set appropriate incentives to correct behavioral issues.

I worked at Amdocs full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Engineering was a reasonably sane environment running Agile (Scrum); some engineering teams better than others. Most groups outside of Engineering were subject to chaos. Some interesting technical work and experience supporting products serving large mobile providers, with the cash cow being a single large mobile provider. Decent overal salary and benefits package, particularly with longer tenure.

    Cons

Culturally difficult environment to work in. Many times, treat employees like cogs on a wheel and drive them into the ground with a lot of hours. Being an Israeli-based company, after acquisition of Qpass, a large amount of Israeli-expats were shipped to Seattle to do things in the "Amdocs way". This killed a lot of the Seattle tech culture that remained form the startup days of Qpass, and was replaced by a massive amounts of politics, short-sighted vision, and a buddy-buddy Israeli decision making group. Company leaned too far solely supporting select large mobile providers for first generation digital content, with really the bulk of revenue coming from a single provider. Lacked strategic vision/investment to be ahead of the curve and diversify their customer base in the digital commerce space.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Decide if you want to be a leader in the mobile space. If so, find the right visionaries with market competency, invest appropriately, and rally the troops.
