I have been working at AEG full-time

Pros

The management team there is great but has been there for awhile. Since the company has been growing, there have been more and more opportunities. Being involved in the sports and entertainment capital on some of the best events really makes the job.

Cons

The workload varies as there are different peaks and valleys of the time of year and the magnitude and number events that are being worked on. Starting out you have to put in your time - it's tough to find that work/life balance so you should like being involved in the events and working odd event hours.

I worked at AEG as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

    - Lots of free tickets to major sporting and entertainment events
    - Opportunity to work at big venues - STAPLES Center, Nokia Theatre, LA Live
    - AEG looks great on your resume
    - Get the inside look on how one of the biggest sports/entertainment companies work

    Cons

    - No clear plan on how to land a job after your internship. Worked my butt off for eight months and then let go after the term was over. AEG HR should create a program where they retain a certain amount of interns for jobs or at least recommend them for other job openings.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to identify young top talent and retain them rather than just hiring from outside since these interns have got inside company experience within a variety of departments. You lose credibility in your intern program if you don't retain anyone.
