I have been working at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

the sale of beverages is not going away, your job is seccure as long as you can perform. They have new equipment,2013 frieghtliners,3yr old power jacks, and forklifts, the building was just remodeled and is set up nicely.
They have good insurance, health, dental, eye, long and short term dissability 401k,and more.

    Cons

wichita ks plant, the head boss is not honest, management can be harsh and hard to work for.
drivers clock in at 4 am. others at 5 am.i was getting 50 to 60 hours a week, but they did away with part of my route ,now they are hard to get 40 hr. a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

little to no chance,if you do have a chance to be in management, you will take a pay cut,and work more hours, for a newer person thats okey, but if you have any time in at all it don't make sence

I worked at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay was good, benefits excellent. I was allowed a great deal of latitude in the way I fulfilled my responsibilities.

    Cons

Seriously under managed: No one with authority was aware of the daily work of many employees.
One way communication from HQ: "This is what you are to do."
No concern with workload as management did not know how to do subordinates' work.
No input sought before major procedural changes were implemented.
Often those changes changes were made with almost no notice.
Ethic of "Fix the problem, not the blame." allowed problems that originated with employees to continue.
Skeleton staffing led to work not being finished and customers being dissatisfied due to even planned absences..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Simply announcing that something must be done does not make it any more possible. Try a feasibility study!
Your front line operation staff are not interchangeable parts in a machine.

I worked at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

This company manages its finances well, which is really good for its stockholders. It is a growing company that has a lot of room for growth in the beverage market.

    Cons

This big company overworks and underpays its sales team. Year after year, the sales force is reduced, leaving the average person in sales with more brands to sell to more customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Begin to look out for your employees! Lose the Big Bureaucratic feel of the organization.

I have been working at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    I have transferred relatively easily.
    Decent pay.
    Able to climb corporate ladder.
    Decent benefits.
A lot of easy going people.
Supervisors and middle management are respectful and aware of you work performance, and acknowledge accordingly.

    Cons

You have to work hard, and deal with some rather lazy coworkers with less than common sense. Employee reviews are few and far between, and often result in a very low wage increase,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train employees better, give raises where they are due, not where they are entitled.

I have been working at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The employees are great to work with. Middle management that have been around for a while know how to work in the industry.

    Cons

The higher up management seem to spent a lot of time looking at computer screens and running reports. They are not seen in the market much, and when they are in the market they are taken to store that have been set up for show.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make your employees feel appreciated. Be in the market more and offer guidance not demands. Give the people in the market on a daily basis the backing of the company.

I have been working at Dr Pepper Snapple Group as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Treat employees well, fun environment, smart colleagues

    Cons

Pay is well below the competition. IT department is so off base and so much needs to be updated and expanded. 1982 called, they want that rotary dial back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Dr Pepper Snapple Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    pay is pretty good.

    Cons

any issue with customers gets dumped on the salesmen because it's easier to just have them take care of it, even if it is things out of their control like delivery or merchandising issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop sitting in your office all day reading emails and see what the salesmen go through each day. instead of just riding along with a salesman, why not actually run the route yourself to see the challenges they go through every day. also stop doing everything the cheap way, like running your staff with the bare minimum so when one person leaves the whole apple cart is upset, and for an extended period of time because you want to save money. also stop doing everything the cheap way. we are a joke compared to coke and Pepsi, such as using cardboard boxes instead of plastic shells for 20oz and 6 pks. customers are constantly complaining about this, but it's falling on deaf ears.
