I have been working at Dollar Tree part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Nice time members, very organized shores, very good training, management is supportive, easy job tasks.

    Cons

Part-time positions get few hours and it´s not easy to get full time position. Pay is not too much. High turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should pay more to keep your employees.

I have been working at Dollar Tree part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice co-workers and supervisors. Flexible hours for a busy student. Been working here for over a year and this is a good pocket money job.

    Cons

My supervisors work very hard, but should be paid more/ receive more recognition from management. No benefits(even though they said they had some), sometimes paid incorrectly(did not get paid extra for holiday work), no raises(no matter how long you work there for).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should give good supervisors promotions and chances to move up the ladder. Have more realistic daily task goals for each store/employee. Too much work to do and so little time!

I have been working at Dollar Tree for more than a year

    Pros

The company offers pretty fair work life balance, decent benefits, freedom to make decisions, friendly customers, a good place to start your career.

    Cons

There are not whole lots of cons, but better upward mobility would be nice, along with a lower copy for medical benefits.

I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Stable company with lots of opportunity for advancement regardless of tenure. Good monthly bonus program.

    Cons

Very tight payroll, the current freight processing system needs to be overhauled. The company needs to have security in urban and city stores to reduce high shrink.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your Store managers and value their input after all we are the ones running your stores. Proper Freight processing is vital for the store's profitability therefore it is extremely important to have seperate freight hours based on the size of the weekly deliveries.

I have been working at Dollar Tree part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

People are really social and make the workplace fun to be at.

    Cons

It's pretty hard to get a raise. I worked there for a few years, staring at $7.25 and a year or two later I was only at $7.45

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review employee work ethic and dedication and consider them for raises more often.

I worked at Dollar Tree full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I loved how easy/simple any and all of the work was and customers were great.

    Cons

Corporate, HR department did not care too much about employees. Sometimes I would be forced to work Open-Close multiple days in a row, they made me quit my outside job/hobby because they wanted to dominate my time, and they made me stop going to church on Sunday mornings because I was required to work instead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees are valuable! Value them! Especially your long-term LOYAL employees that stuck with you for many years only to be treated like trash and set up to be fired or terminated.

I have been working at Dollar Tree part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great people to work with, management is very receptive and aware of the work environment.

    Cons

Salary is mediocre. Granted, it is Dollar Tree, so one can't expect a stellar salary. Company policies are followed in spirit, but depending on the supervisor's prerogatives, the literal applications may get lost. It's also a difficult company to establish a career in.

I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Very stable company, financially smart, potential for bonuses is always nice. Company has grown significantly over the last 15 years.

    Cons

Extreme amount of pressure on the store managers. "45" hour work week almost always turns into 70+. As company grows, it compensates by strangling store resources. Benefits have become cheap.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on employees. Happy employees would significantly improve turn over in management.
