    Pros

They used to make some entertaining programming and it used to be cool to say that you worked for Discovery Channel, at it was back then.

    Cons

The shows on Discovery have changed though. The idea of making these shows is to create dramatic "real" programming at the cheapest possible cost, often while compromising employee safety.

    Advice to Management

Start caring about the people that are actually making you money.

    Pros

Many events throughout the month either through HR or PR to promote what is happening with the company and what's on air. Lot's of great teamwork. People work closely with one another, so assistants get to be highly involved in projects. Big fan of the shows and the brand!

    Cons

Money drives every decision, some people's creativity is stifled by the bottom line. Also, slow to give benefits to new employees.

    Pros

Great company brand recognition, clients and work flow.

    Cons

Very corporate atmosphere with cubicles and a formal dress code. For someone previously in a startup environment it was a tough transition to make. Internal movement can be done within the company but it can take a long time.

    Pros

The biggest pro I could mention would be the flexible schedule. Most managers are more concerned with the work being done well then exactly when you do it. I have seen many people easily get time off or leave work late or come in late because of school graduations, college exams, and doctors appointments without issue.

    Cons

In my experience, the main con would be some of the equipment, like the computers, is a bit older then I would really like. But I am also an intern so I am sure that effects things.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice to management at this time.

    Pros

Hands on real PR work, supervisors who mentor you, supportive work environment, fun people, speakers and events for interns, got to go on interviews with top talent and media outlets.

    Cons

Could get stressful when deadlines come close, sometimes have to do grunt work but someone has to do it.

    Advice to Management

Try to make more opportunities available for former interns to become full time employees.

    Pros

Culture is very alive, fast-speed, multi-cultured and colorful. People are very sociable and it feels like a family.

    Cons

Too much favoritism and hypocrisy. Lack of transparency keeps employees from growing or learning from flaws to seek new opportunities within company. Direct management is immature and does not acknowledge or help dedicated employees grow.

    Advice to Management

Needs to show more appreciation for employees work, loyalty and efforts.
