    Cons

    Pros

Great atmosphere and work environment. Ability to gain knowledge is completely dependent upon your work ethic and desire to learn.

    Cons

Slim guidance from upper management. More of a sink or swim environment. If your unable to teach yourself or unable to figure out how, this job is not for you.

I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Pay is above average
    Benefits are good

    Cons

Originally sold as being a banking office but start-up style, the realisation I made a mistake set in promptly during my first team meeting. The team remained mostly silent as the boss told us the scope of the project had been reduced and the remaining tasks were mundane. Over time I recognized this as modus-operandi and it was something I should not complain about if I wanted to get a bonus.

The center is operated as a number of disparate teams who rarely collaborate. In essence the building is just a cheaper out-post for London, so fear ruled supreme to not upset our anglo-colleagues otherwise it would not go well for us. There was a lot of sucking up to London which meant we had no discernible identity to speak of.

The ceiling of career potential was very low. Some people were promoted yet their responsibility would always be lower than the London office. Lots of leadership with no authority.

    No training.
Uncaring senior management who never interacted with us.
Lots of horse and pony shows when a London honcho came to town.
Mass hiring, frequent firing. Seat filling is more important than productivty.
Office is empty at 5:10 most nights - an indicator of lack of interest by all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow some. Stand up to your London managers. Stop hiring to fill seats and concentrate on quality.

I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The graduate program is very thorough and offers varied job rotations and qualification opportunities. Also being a global investment bank means there are options to move abroad internally and are often encouraged by senior management.

    Cons

Being a large bank can mean that any change initiatives being undertaken can be very slow and sometimes ineffective which can damage employee morale with large sums of money being wasted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Implement change at a smaller level as opposed to trying to change the entire bank at once.
