Former Employee – worked at Dart Container full-time for less than a year
Pros – Benefit package looked decent, but never got a chance to receive any benefits.
Cons – They watch every move you make and what time you did it.
I was told that dress code is business casual, ie: khakis, polo shirts, dress shoes, but other people got to wear jeans and/or t-shirts like Nike and Under Armour EVERY day.
Can't say the word "cute" about anyone or anything as it's constured as sexual harrasment. Can't comment on a baby picture, someone's hairstyle or shirt, etc. And if you even refer to someone working there or NOT even working there as 'cute', you're fired.
Advice to Senior Management – LIGHTEN UP and BACK OFF!
Enforce your company policy either to EVERYONE or NO ONE!

Former Employee – worked at Dart Container
Pros – Pay and benefits are pretty good, comparable with industry.
Cons – Abusive management. No diversity. Creativity discouraged. Hard work is not rewarded. Pandering and brown nosing are. This company was created by a hard working engineer, who used to work side by side with machinists and designers, as little as 20 years ago, but now it is controlled by his offshore billionaire grandsons who gave up their citizenship to avoid paying taxes and alimony.
Advice to Senior Management – This company badly needs a union, for all employees.

Current Employee – been working at Dart Container full-time for less than a year
Pros – None, although a few of the employees are good people. And the pay is decent.
Cons – Judgmental Managment and inhuman resources department. Only hire white people and are think there excrement smells of roses, love to judge but have many flaws themselves.
Advice to Senior Management – Those of you in Managment who Are without sin, cast the first stone!

Former Employee – worked at Dart Container
Pros – Pay is okay. There are good people who work there and care about what they output. Decent benefits
Cons – Not many opportunities to advance if you are a lower level employee. Seems you will get stuck in the same position for years on end.
Advice to Senior Management – Open up opportunities for lower level employees to advance, especially ones that have worked there for years and have proven their worth the to company

Former Employee – worked at Dart Container
Pros – Decent pay for the amount of work required
Cons – Loud, typical factory environment. 7 week rotational schedule where you are required to work on weekends.
Advice to Senior Management – The inspector/packer is often roped into doing the job of machine operators. Machine operators are paid more and should be expected to fix machines promptly and without hesitation.

Former Employee – worked at Dart Container
Pros – This is a family owned business, which can be a benefit. Generally speaking, projects that have visibility of the owners can be fast-tracked and avoid the usual bureaucracy of a public company. Most of the engineering staff are pleasant people, although not the 'cream of the crop' given the low compensation.
Cons – The morale is very poor among most of the engineering staff. Creativity is usually stifled by the oppressive management style. The structure of the engineering department is quite top-heavy. If you are concerned about salary, don't bother with Dart. The M.O. seems to be focused on filling positions with people who are not qualified to go elsewhere, and thus cannot demand competitive salaries. There are individuals who are exceptions to this rule at Dart (talented and not concerned with compensation), and Dart is lucky to have had them on staff for 20-30 years. For most others with any real expertise, tenure seems to be about 2-5 years at best.
Advice to Senior Management – Morale is very important in an engineering driven company. If an engineer is not rewarded for his accomplishments, he will learn to choose the easiest solution instead of the best solution. You have forgotten the legacy of this company, and the inventive entrepreneurial spirit is slipping away. Better do something to catch it, or your competitive advantage will slip away with it.
