    Pros

I love the overall atmosphere of a Dairy Queen, it's hard not to love your life when you make Ice Cream for a living. Being the boss, I get to set the tone of the whole store and I love the interactions I get to have with my team, I know each and every one of them on a personal basis as well, which I find to be awesome.

    Cons

As much as I love my job, there are the usual cons that go along with being a store manager - long hours, constantly fixing things, etc. I also wish there were greater opportunity within the corporation as a whole, but sadly I think I'm at the top level I can reach with DQ.

    Pros

    Work experience
    Flexible hours
Can sometimes be a chill place to work at
    Occasional nice customers
    Surrounded by icecream

    Cons

    Minimum wage
    Customers with attitude
    Awful assistant manager
    Staff hygiene was terrible
    Impatient customers
Staff that treat you like crap (well for me they did)

    Advice to Management

Stop picking favourites, your staff don't fet paid enough to put up with yours and the customers crap and attitude. Start paying the staff more than minimum wage.

    Pros

Great way to gain knowledge of business operations. And allows you to build up your resume with more experience.

    Cons

I don't receive any benefits, and i get about $.30 above minimum wage, so the amount of work put in is not shown though your pay.

    Pros

Good training, fairly simple to get the hang of the operations, all you can eat ice cream, discounts on cakes

    Cons

Constantly cold - you're always handling ice cream and other frozen desserts so you're almost always cold.
The smell of dirty, ice cream covered dishes is so disgusting that I vowed not to return to ever work there.

    Advice to Management

    Get an air-scent neutralizer.

    Pros

The co-workers are all really nice and a flexible schedule. It's not too stressful; a nice balance between life and work.

    Cons

It was hard to remember everything that was needed to be done and the boss was horrible. The experiences would have been nicer if the boss was horrid. He just expected everything to be super, super, SUPER PERFECT no matter what and it made the job more stressful than it should be. Plus, he made a big deal about every little thing and he was cheap. Food was only 50& off only when you're working, and no waste or mistakes was allowed, so you had to scrape every last bit. Also, there were no benefits.

    Advice to Management

Dairy Queen is nice to work at, but make sure you work for a nice boss or else everything goes downhill. In my city, Dairy Queen centres are privately owned.
