    Been very trying over the years but have not been able to find other work.

    Quality Evaluator (Current Employee) London, ON

    ProsVery friendly co-workers, inviting atmosphere. There is some recognition for a job well done from immediate managers. Very thorough training and are willing to give second chances.

    ConsNo recognition for support departments, such as trainging and quality, no bonuses either. Pay is at the bottom of the scale for jobs being done, even with years of service. Hard to go to upper management about these issues as there is a fear of being fired. I have seen them just look for reasons to fire people just because they disliked them.

    Advice to Senior ManagementThere needs to be more recognition and incentives to support departments. They are apart of the company as well and help with the growth of the business, not just the on phone agents.

    International customer service call center (outsourcing)

    Team Leader (Former Employee) Ottawa, ON

    ProsGood new employee training program, good benefits. Convergys had helped many new grads to start their careers in Ottawa, On

    ConsVery strict call center rules and metrics; many agent did not feel that company treats their employees right. Convergys finally decided to close their business in Ottawa back in 2010 and moved operations to other countries outside of NA.

    Convergys is terrible company to work for

    Telephone Service Agent (Former Employee) St. John's, NL

    ProsI met some great people, the work is easy

    ConsThey encouraged me to lie to customers to get sales, promotions werent based on merit, but on who had out of work relationships with the boss. Unsanitary working conditions. HIgh stress, too much pressure to make sales, at the expense of thei clients and at expense of agents. benefits of teh job have been steadily decreasing. Only pays minimum wage. Employees dont feel valued. Working at Convergys these days is considered by most to be a joke, lower on the scale then working for McDonalds. I miss the days when intelligence, integirty and skills were valued assets.

    Advice to Senior ManagementStart showing employees you care, monitor chats for harassment, and inapropriate behaviour by supervisors. Ease up on the sales pressure, thats the biggest reason you are one of the most hated employers around here. Review the upper management of your centres for corruption on a regular basis. Your company USED to be a place of pride, its a shame you let it go.

    It's a paycheque - but that's about it.

    Customer Account Executive (Current Employee) St. John's, NL

    ProsIt's a regular paycheque if you find yourself suddenly laid off or otherwise out of work. They're usually always hiring.

    ConsThey're usually always hiring because of the staggeringly high turnover rate, primarily due to poor pay, poor hours, poor management, and complete lack of opportunities for advancement, despite promises.

    Advice to Senior ManagementQuit.

    Good first time experience in the call-center

    TSR (Former Employee) Kamloops, BC

    ProsGood company to work for and get experience working in a call-center environment. Solid training and great for a first time role in a call-center.

    ConsBuilding was a bit dated and drafty. Limited opportunities locally. Business focus moving to other locations.

    If you're a University Grad, you can do better than this!

    Trusted Advisor (Former Employee) Welland, ON

    ProsPay, Shift and holiday bonuses, training, peers,

    ConsSoftware and systems are too slow, you need to come in 10-15 minutes earlier so you can start on time
    Calls keep coming in so no time to breathe;
    Constant criticism on your calls when being evaluated;
    If you're having a bad day things just get messy;
    Hours are bad, if you're just starting out
    If you're a university grad you can go do better than this!
