Tow the company line and you'll be fine

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat opportunity for international employees and women. Some great managers at the the top. Very steady business always slowly growing. Benefits are very good.

ConsCompany has run out of ideas to save money and grow sales so is slashing internal staff and going to "global hubs". Has gone far away from its plans to become a best place to work.

Advice to Senior ManagementBusiness and sales are great don't neglect the employees who have worked so hard to get it there

    Mixed Signals

Business Development Manager (Former Employee) Sofia (Bulgaria)

ProsMultinational allowing for growth and development, internal online and on-the-job training. Team work, communication and management skills valued the most. Opportunity for recognition of efforts beyond one's job via YCMAD programs.

ConsSmall office, distant location and little light in the room. (Sofia office) Limited opportunity for further development after end of short-term assignments.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to automate as many tasks as possible to reduce manual data processing and analysis. Consider BI graphs and charts on all levels.

Solid, stable company for mid-level to senior management

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsSome of the best benefits (health, vacation, etc) when comparing to other companies
Promotes networking and working in teams
Willing to let employees try roles that do not exactly match their backgrounds

ConsManagement is very conservative and it is extremely hard to make changes to practices already in place
Promotions tend to be based on politics rather than work accomplished
Little focus is put on developing and retaining young talent

Advice to Senior ManagementSpend some time focusing on feedback from the younger employees. Afterall, they are the future of the company - if they decide to stick around.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

    Very solid Company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Pros- Colgate is a truly global Company, when working there you really feel you are part of a global team. Lots of interactions with people from different geographies
    - Financilly solid with consistent positive results
    - Very focused and internally aligned
    - Strong team spirit. Respect and caring values applied.

Cons- You need to be globally mobile and make yourself 100% available in terms of timing and location in order to grow in the company. If being an expat you reject a move to another country you get localized in whichever country you are at this moment
    - Too centralized few room to develop ideas or new ways of doing
    - Diversity only in terms of nationality, few women in top management and most men with same traditional profile (married with wife and children following them around the world)

Advice to Senior Management- Review current practices to promote good talent to senior positions
    - Push for real diversity open mind to different ways of building carreers
    - Leverage dividends payout with salary increases

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
