Current Employee – been working at Clear Channel full-time for more than a year
Pros – Good environment and there are health benefits, while not the best they are sufficient. Good relationships within the company and attempts to have employee engagement.
Cons – The company is extremely large and disorganized. Whether or not it's a "company policy," there is a major lack of raises and growth opportunities, which make it difficult for employees to stay motivated, especially when they aren't in commission-based positions.
Advice to Senior Management – If there aren't opportunities for advancement/raises, it's difficult to motivate employees

Former Employee – worked at Clear Channel full-time for more than a year
Pros – Plenty of online sales resources.
Position allows for a lot of creativity and flexibility. Goal Driven, so there are plenty of sales contests!
Cons – 100% Commission
No positive reinforcement
Serious lack of teamwork within the company as a whole. As an account rep you feel like you hold no value to the company when the revenue is due to your work! Very aggravating!!!
Advice to Senior Management – Sales managers should be available to motivate, encourage, as well as guide their teams... Not to compete & badger them!

Current Employee – been working at Clear Channel full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – There are some great people here in the support departments...web, production, HR, IT, etc. But this place is ruled by the sales staff because nothing matters but the bottom line. The problem is, is that the sales staff is the highest turn over job that literally anyone can walk in the door and get. So some of the people...are not bright.
Cons – Management consists of complete idiots who were sales people that moved up. Example: I have had to explain to a 50 year old adult sales manager that yes, if you want people to see the link in your email, you just send it to them and they can click on it and see the link. I don't understand how someone can be an adult in 2013 and not know how to use a computer, even basic functions like email. Also, there is zero room for advancement if you are not in sales. And there are some program directors that do absolutely nothing.
Advice to Senior Management – The sales managers are going to push the good production people away.

Former Employee – worked at Clear Channel full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – The product itself, radio and TV programming/marketing is fun and challenging. There are some talented people in the organization
Cons – The home office is relentlessly fixated on maximizing profits to the detriment of the product. Corporate made the statement several times: "We are in the business of selling advertising. Not entertainment." and this mindset hurts the company and contributes to its shrinkage in use.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire some radio product experts and give people reasons for listening to on-the-air radio. And get back to 12 minutes an hour of commercials. 22 minutes an hour is way too much. You are driving people to their Ipods.

Current Employee – been working at Clear Channel full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great co-workers, lively and interesting environment, lots of free food, foam soap in the bathrooms, occasionally get to meet semi-famous people and politicians.
Cons – No opportunity for advancement, the management are disorganized, no one seems to be happy with their job except a few on-air talent. The sales department is extremely dysfunctional and disorganized. The whole place feels like a sinking ship.
Advice to Senior Management – Not sure if you need to do some kind of week long retreat on how to be good managers or if you all need to just be moved to other markets away from each other.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
