ProsCintas has a first rate corporate culture with a true sense of being the absolute best. The meticulous hiring process is something that should be used in most industries. The best thing about Cintas is that you are rewarded for your performance in most cases.

ConsCintas fails in only a few segments, but they are very important. First, I would state that the evaluation of employees is far too numbers driven. Numbers are a great initial metric; however, a performance number is not the only indicator that can be used to determine the suitability for promotion. Often Cintas will promote the top performers with little regard to the skill set required at the next level. Second, Cintas has a lack of procedure in having new promotees acquire the necessary experiences to become effective in their new roles. A more thorough transition process would be an effective change for Cintas to make.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake the number a requirement, but expand your method of evaluation of each partner. Partners are not machines that are strictly viewed by analyzing data. Partners are humans that bring a ton of positive and negative elements to specfic roles. Make more time in evaluating partners to ensure that they are in the best role for their skill set.

ProsFree benefits! don't having to pay MSP every month, no union dues, paid Birthday off, 2 weeks Vacation or more, RRSP, Stock Sharing, mostly friendly people.

Conscan't take time off, can't take your birthday day off can't get paid extra for not taking it either, always get more work never get more pay, you can make commission but its really hard to make sales if you are good at that you could make $300 in a day.. that is if you can find the time to try to sell.. you gotta wake up super early sometimes 2 am, but you get to go home before 3pm so you miss all rush hour which is good but its hard to fall asleep when its still light out.. you get paid really bad for how hard you work, these salarys on here must be from the magical land of wherever, I get $14.50/h people who have been doing this for 5 years get $15.50/hour (maybe). in a year you get a raise, .17 cents! made my day when I heard that.

Advice to Senior Managementpay us more!, we make the money for you. show some respect! give us a wage so we can actually brag about our job.. I'm ashamed of my job, I don't tell anyone what i do, if they ask I lie so I don't sound like a sucker. I can't say I clean toilets but I get paid $$$ to do it so i don't care. if I could I would.

ProsExcellent training programs. If you do well you are rewarded handsomely. You are given the responsibility and the authority to take care of any issues within your scope of work.

ConsIt's all about the numbers and what have you done for me lately. If you can work in that environment Cintas is a great place to work and they reward the employees that do well. A lot is expected of the "partners" (employees) they expect long hours and high sales numbers. It takes a long time to effect change within the company and they are way too cheap.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt is odd that a company that proclaims to have a spartan attitude they have their senior managers flown around the country in a private jet spartan is good but Cintas has become cheap. They need to spend the money at thier locations upgrading the technology

ProsI came to Cintas to get out of a toxic work environment.

ConsOut of the proverbial frying pan, and into the fire. It went well at first, then the cracks started appearing. Turnover in SSR's averages just over 3 weeks. My location hasn't been "fully staffed" in over 2.5 years, (my tenure). The ideal SSR is a robot that sells, not a person. Taking personal time for illness or family issues makes you less of an employee in management's eyes. The phrase "do it for your family" is thrown around a LOT. However, if you want to actually spend time with, or do something for your family, *most* management looks down on you. If you can't eat, sleep, & breathe Cintas, then don't apply as an SSR.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe recruiting methods that have been used in the past, still aren't working 100%. A definition of insanity is doing the same things, and expecting different results. Find a new source of recruits, think outside the box. Think about the ideal personality, and find out where those people congregate. Don't use the traditional channels of campus recruiting & job fairs.

ProsGreat hours, I like my co-workers, job security, paid weekly, and managers that actually care about teaching you how to advance your career with Cintas. I think my manager really wants me to become a better leader

ConsPay could be a lot better, no vacation/sick time in first year. It gets very hot in the summer months. Teamwork between drivers and plant partners could be better. I feel like we clean up their mess when they bring back their unorganized trucks.

Advice to Senior ManagementDiscipline drivers who don't care, there are many employees that would love to have their job and do it good. Give us the ability to get promoted faster.
