    I worked at Cerner full-time

    Pros

Define your future. Choose your path. Friendly to helping staff locate their optimum position within the company. Very fluid company culture.

    Cons

Demand on time is high. Work life balance can be challenging. Nevertheless, a great opportunity for entering the consulting field and getting trained quickly in the real world.

I worked at Cerner as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Had a lot of great learning opportunities for all the interns at the company including hackathons, baseball games, trivia, and a bunch of other fun activities. Projects are a lot of fun (at least mine was) and I actually felt like I was working on something meaningful

    Cons

Getting started was very slow. Making sure you had all the right equipment and access rights took a couple of weeks so you struggle to find things to do during the day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be prepared for incoming interns, make sure to have all their access rights and equipment ready on day one so they can get to work immediately

I worked at Cerner as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    Excellent Healthcare
    Company culture
    Good starting salary

    Cons

A fair warning to the budding software developer: if the company courting you tosses out terms like "rockstar", "guru", or other hyperbolic buzzwords that make your developer desk job sound like you're going to be a programming god, be wary. This means that they are going to take advantage of your free time once they've got you on salary. I've seen my friends working until 9 PM some nights getting their tasks done. Sure, they're making a lot more than I am, but I value coming home while the sun is out.

I have been working at Cerner full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Great co-workers
Consistently challenged to learn more and excel
    No day is the same

    Cons

There are times where you have to spread your wings and fly before you feel you are ready. This can be good or bad, just depends on the situation, but it does cause a bit of anxiety/stress.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage your reports to attend training sessions either internally or externally. The information absorbed and the networking opportunity is invaluable.
