I have been working at Campbell Soup full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The pay and benefits are real good. I love going to the Company store where you can get discounts on soups.

    Cons

I have been employed at Campbell Soup for only five months and already looking for another job. There is a lot of favoritism in my department. The plant consists of a lot of temps working. I have had major issues with some of my co-workers because I I got hired from the outside as a permanent Campbell Soup employee and have never tempted. My Supervisor threatened to fire me the first day on the job!! Not kidding!!!!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I don't know what it takes to make a Company become successful but you should take complaints seriously. I have always admired and thought well of Campbell Soup until I actually became employed here. Supervisors and Team Leaders should not play favorites and be more open minded. There are two sides to every story!! I have met wonderful people here but this Company is not for me. I will not be mistreated!!

    Pros

Great company for training and building your career when starting out. Gain valuable experience from a top notch CPG company. From a sales perspective, the insights and resources available far exceed other food companies.

    Cons

Senior management needs to focus on culture and engagement to drive retention.

I worked at Campbell Soup full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

It is a family owned business that has stayed true to it's roots. Quality products, made with quality people from quality ingredients.

    Cons

Long hours and a lot of changing shift work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

increase your direct marketing strategies. Focus on the family values and traditional quality products.
You most broaden your product lines to include more ethnic products.

I worked at Campbell Soup full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Brand recognition. Decent pay. Looks good on resume

    Cons

Politics over all else, and Incredible bureaucracy. Their Gallup employee engagement measure is a joke... It is not anonymous and there are extreme consequences for being honest. Walking down the hallways with all the placards is eerily similar to Orwell's 1984. It apparently hasn't changed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the culture and be a hungry efficient food company

I have been working at Campbell Soup full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good pay. Safe working conditions most of the time

    Cons

Work 7 days per week, 8 to 12 hours per day with few days off in the sauce plant. Very stressful and hot temps in the summer. Chaotic planning from management. Too much control from supervision and management trying to make a name for themselves .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to what employees are saying instead of supervision because they will deceive you . They make a lot of bad political decisions and make paperwork look good etc.

Has never been able to become a true global player due to it's risk adverse culture

I worked at Campbell Soup full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Employees are very well compensated for the work they perform. One can achieve a fairly good work/life balance in most departments.

    Cons

Company too focused on protection of current cash flow and dividend at the expense of making the necessary investments to become a true global player. Organization structure is much too top heavy resulting in behavior to just survive as opposed to taking the necessary risks to promote growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As opposed to doing blanket percentage cuts across the organization initiate a true process review on a department by department basis to determine a better way to streamline the organization. This needs to be done in an objective manner and not be left to the department heads. Maybe a real COO is the answer.

I worked at Campbell Soup as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Benefits are usually very good, they allow for an open environment to work and discuss with your coworkers and the culture is generally very friendly. Also, there is quite a bit a diversity in age groups and gender.

    Cons

There is not much racial diversity among the employees and sometimes the upper management is too personal. Although you will enjoy how personal they are, sometimes they call for meetings that could have easily been conducted over the phone or through email, making work less efficient.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find more efficient ways to communicate needs to other employees.
