I worked at Burger King part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great hours. If you want to work a lot, they'll let you. Friendly staff, everyone is a character. Very easy to move up in the stores, just talk to one of your managers. Fun and laid back environment.

    Cons

Biggest thing is that they didn't enforce breaks. I would work 8 hour shifts without getting the 30 minutes I was supposed to. Lots of responsibilities, so you could be doing drive thru and fries and bagging and in my case I also ran front counter all at the same time cause my manager was on a smoke break.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I had some managers that were bluntly rude to their team and others that were so sweet that they looked bad when team members would take advantage of their kindness. Watch your back managers, respect your employees and respect the product.

I worked at Burger King part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Management was lenient, everyone was pretty friendly. It was my first job but I picked everything up easily. Nothing is too hard.

    Cons

Asked to train on my own time without compensation. That didn't fly with me.

I worked at Burger King full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

free food and hours are definitely available! good camaraderie and rapport with my fellow coworkers and staff!

    Cons

when it came time for my promotion to Manager, the DM never showed when I made the time to come in on my day(s) off for my ServSafe certification. Empty promises and waste of time just made me really want to go somewhere else where I could hold a person at their word instead of being consistently letdown.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Practice what you preach and there is a easy invention called a telephone! Text or call the person or at the store you are supposed to be at and relay the message that you won't be able to show and perhaps once you start listening to the managers and crew if there's an issue at hand that needs addressing what it may be, perhaps that might help limit the high turnover in your District!

I have been working at Burger King part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free drinks, half-off food. If you have good coworkers and a decent manager, it'll be nice to talk to someone while you wipe the windows. It's also nice to know the "ins and outs" of the restaurant and know things that most people don't.

I've sometimes received tips. There are also a lot of customers coming through, so you get to interact with many people. Some of them are even good looking.

    Cons

It can get dirty. If your managers are mean, that's tough to endure. Also, your coworkers could be jerks. And the customer is always right, even when they're not. There have been many times when I've had to explain to my (angry) mangers that I did everything correctly and that it was the customer's fault. Customers can also be rude and condescending. I bet the environment doesn't do much for your pores either, though I saw no significant difference.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't get mad at a new employee for not knowing something that no one told them.
