I worked at Burger King
Pros – Being a franchisee, I built a family type friendship with my employees and regular customers.
Cons – Frequent procedure changes conflicted with everyday operations.
Advice to Senior Management – Instead of copying or trying to create new marketing ideas that lead to stale sales, focus on what makes Burger King famous. Advertise the Whopper! Simplify the menu!

I worked at Burger King as an intern for less than a year
Pros – If you are lucky you can make great friends and get some fun while working. It will depend on the manager and the pressure under you.
Cons – Working under pressure all the time, doing lots of thing. You never know what you will got to do in one day and you can get home before accomplishing the schedule. It depends on their profitability.
Advice to Senior Management – Be more sympathetic.

I worked at Burger King full-time for less than a year
Pros – Time goes by fast, good for your first job and if it is temporary or for experience.
Cons – Rude customers that think they are better than you,. no benefits, managers were illegally docking staff's pay by saying our register's were short, we'd be threatened to be written up if we didn't let them cash our check through them and let them dock us. They got away with it cause I was young and stupid and some were in compromising states in their life's like probation.
Advice to Senior Management – Hope you guys got fired for being horrible human beings!

I worked at Burger King full-time for less than a year
Pros – - Miami is a beautiful, unique city
- Given a lot of responsibility at the analyst level
- Exposure to upper management and senior leadership team
- Management Trainee Program has a lot of young, recent graduates. Great for meeting people your age if you're moving to Miami and don't know anyone there
Cons – - IF YOU READ ANYTHING READ THIS. Out of the 34 Management Trainees who started in June 2012, eleven months later only 20 of them are still with Burger King! 6 got let go immediately after the rotations, 6 quit over the course of the 11 months, 1 got outsourced, 1 got laid off later on.
- As others have remarked, there is a constant fear of getting fired or laid off. Even 2-3 years after 3G took over, lay-offs happen every couple months or so (includes upper management, recent MBA hires, etc.). Can happen to anyone.
- Management Trainees have close to ZERO say of which department they will rotate through and where they will permanently be placed. In fact, a majority will get placed in "Global Business Services", which is another word for their processing center.
- Technology and quantitative analysis is archaic, and all done through Excel sheets. Way behind other competitors, and surprising given how large a company BK is.
- Expected* to work 60+ hrs. per week. Even if you have nothing to do, leaving before 7pm in certain departments will get you stares and the assumption you are not doing work.
Advice to Senior Management – I would tell them to treat people better, but they already know that they don't. This is their way of doing business. To them, cost-cutting and over-working employees and making everyone dispensable will ring in profits. While this is true in the short-term, they don't realize it is impossible to grow a brand with this type of culture and constant turn-over. They simply don't care.

I worked at Burger King full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – The food stacks up better main competitors.
Cons – Company sold off too often. Too tight , changed promotions and menu too ofter. Never gave raises to crew or managers.. Well once in five years. They have not invested money in there facilities in most of their stores.
Advice to Senior Management – Be more consistent in your promotions . Invest in your store equipment and outside looks. FInally be better to your employess.

I worked at Burger King part-time for more than 8 years
Pros – steady income, even if its not a whole lot
Cons – Pay was not great at all, even after 9 years working with them
Advice to Senior Management – Dont keep promoting children into lead manager positions! You have kids, who might be great employees but are NOT management material, being sent to Lead classes, put in their shirt and tie/scarves and they lack the maturity that someone in management needs to be effective at even the simplest of training tasks. All pay raises should be performance based, and not just management should be allowed to receive raises, some of us Crew members have worked hard for a long time, exceed your expectations and are still being paid crap!

I have been working at Burger King part-time for less than a year
Pros – It's extremely hard to get fired and some of the people are very fun to work with.
Cons – Your hours get cut a lot, they tend to hire more people than they need, and some of the managers have serious attitude problems or act like they do not know how to manage things.
Advice to Senior Management – Take some professionalism classes.

I have been working at Burger King part-time for less than a year
Pros – some room for advancement, flexible hours
Cons – managers disrespect part time employees, low wage(most managers have second jobs), time wasted with gossip
Advice to Senior Management – respect your employees, focus on doing your job instead of belittling others, stop micromanaging, learn how to do your job correctly before telling me how to do mine, don't sacrifice accuracy for speed, listen to customers
