I worked at Best Buy full-time for less than a year

ProsLong breaks, Great discounts on merchandise. You do gain a lot of knowledge and gain a lot of information on the newest technology coming out. Great people working with you.

ConsHorrible work environment (not professional). The company is dishonest in all its warranties and the return policies. They might treat there staff well pay wise, but for all the complaints you receive face to face, and the resentment given to you because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time is unbearable. And the worse part is you know your the wrong one in the situation. what the customer is saying is right you agree, "yes you have every right to get angry"

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a hint from never once receiving a Compliment from a customer and make some changes. Realize that your primary reliably on customer loyalty is all you have in this day in age....

they say world class a lot... but are so behind the times.

Product Process Specialist (Current Employee)
Vancouver, BC

I have been working at Best Buy full-time for more than a year

ProsMost employees are younger, good eye candy, and they do promote from within. At it's best it is a highly motivating, energetic and great company for students.

ConsTerribly low wages, high stress environment with low support for most job roles. Generally good product knowledge is paired with otherwise generally uneducated employees that stick around forever and memorize talking points. This leads to childish, catty, and very cliquey behavior at it's worst.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrain people better!! Invest in better technology and methods, actually aim to be world class and don't just talk about being world class. This requires restructuring, but not just blurring lines and expecting store staff to fill in the gaps. I can see the economy is shifting but for a technology company this is very 90's in many ways and feels so out of date.
