Current Employee – been working at Bechtel
Pros – There are international opportunities and some very knowledgeable staff.
Cons – Job locations are sometimes not too desirable. Organization structure is vertical like that of the military.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to increase international employee retirement plan.

Current Employee – been working at Bechtel full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Opportunities to travel and see the world, stable job with opportunities to save money if you are a graduate.
Cons – Almlost obsolete processes. Beaurocracy. Discrimination based on origin, nationality and gender. Top heavy and filled with self promoting managers unwilling to retire, leaving few opportunities for younger talent to rise to positions of authority and influence or effect much needed change. All the above combine to create a limiting and toxic environment. Ethics are paid lip service and otherwise tossed out the window. HR exists to serve management and save the company money by cutting benefits of the 'little people'. Some good managers do exist but they are a dime a dozen. Three out of five of my line managers have been slave driving sadists.
Advice to Senior Management – Senior management should listen to ittle people. Cut through middle management and HR and set up channels whereby employees can give anonymous, objective feedback without fear of repercussions. The company needs to swallow the bitter pill and adapt in order to become a better place to work.

Current Employee – been working at Bechtel full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – The programme provides real responsibility at an early career stage and a wide variety of experience across the Bechtel GBUs. The people are some of the best in class and the graduate scheme provides a great grounding in the fundamentals of the industry.
Cons – After the graduate scheme is complete there is not a clear career path. Career progression particularly in the Oil and Gas GBU is very slow and to get onto the leadership track you need to invest a .lot of effort in networking.
Advice to Senior Management – Provide a clearer career path for employees after employees complete the graduate scheme.

Pros – Good salary and opportunities to move up the corporate ladder. Bechtel gives you the opportunity to work on some of the world’s biggest and most complex engineering and construction projects.
Cons – Moving up in the company often requires you to relocate to remote projects worldwide, having to sacrifice your family and friends.

Pros – Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, procurement, and construction companies in the world. Many people want to work for such a reputable company and Bechtel is being very responsive to employees's needs in the workplace. They're implementing many programs as part of a great place to work campaign that is seeing great results.

Former Employee – worked at Bechtel as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Good pay, decent work environment, high emphasis on safety and employee happiness. Always opportunities to seek advice or improvement, both internally and on a project.
Cons – Some malcontent employees may tend to try and drag you down, but that doesn't necessarily differentiate Bechtel from anywhere else in the world.

Current Employee – been working at Bechtel full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – good 2nd innings, they don't give anything until you resign and come back in a year or so.
Cons – performance is over hyped and in reality under rated. stay away from power projects, unless you like to be a daily labour paid 8 hours for 12 hours of daily work. yes they have overtime but it's non existent in reality. the supervisors say, no budget baby, and threaten covertly. that's ethics 101 here. top management sings a different song altogether. US guys don't care and local are only to glad, they just blame people productivity for not giving overtime! they hired all useless dimwits , if you believe them. non the less. french queen rule! no bread -then buy pastries.
Advice to Senior Management – ...no use.
