    Pros

    People are friendly
    People are helpful where possible

    Cons

Reducing costs is the dominant driver of decisions. As a result ageing systems and equipment are not improved, redundancy rounds leave fewer people doing more work, high staff turnover means few people are able to explain or justify what was done in the past, obtaining approval for any expenditure is difficult, and compensation is significantly reduced.

Barclays is reducing in size so the environment is one of managing decline.

The effect of this is to increase the time and effort required on process work at the expense of seeking improvements.

    Advice to Management

Don't just accept staff turnover, find out why people are leaving and try to address their concerns.

Barclays invests a lot in training programs for analysts, people are nice although formal

    Cons

    Advice to Management

invest in technology rather than dumb people
