Barclays is taking steps in the right direction, but the view from inside is a little less rosey.

Compliance Analyst (Current Employee)
New York, NY (US)

I have been working at Barclays full-time for less than a year

ProsMany educational resources and opportunities. Making a concerted effort to turnaround its image and values, and is ousting employees who aren't on board.

Consterribly bureaucratic and political still.

Good, but the overall strategy keeps on changing

Local Business Manager (Former Employee)

I worked at Barclays full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGood brand name , very strong presence in Uk and in sub Saharan Africa. Barclays issue has been that its strategy keeps on changing in different regions

ConsUnreliable strategy thinking. There is no reliable strategy in various regions that Barclays operates in. The thinking is personality driven instead of being fact driven

Advice to Senior ManagementThe geographic and business strategy needs to be thought through and not personality driven.Barclays entry in emerging markets in general needs to be thought through and then followed upon for some time.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
