Former Employee – worked at Banana Republic
Pros – Most of the best reasons are gone. The good managers DM and visual who valued the people are no longer here. The people they brought in to replace them just follow orders. The business training is good though.
Cons – Mid level managers have been removed and all direction comes from country level or San Fransisco.
Advice to Senior Management – You no longer value the people in the field. There is way to much to do. Your expectations are ridiculous.

Current Employee – been working at Banana Republic
Pros – Great discount
Amazing co-workers
Supportive managers (especially the head of Men's Department, she is the BEST!!!)
Cons – The store hired 50-60 seasonal employees (if I am not mistaken), but there were only few people who are lucky to get shifts every week, it seems like, those were the same people, over and over again, maybe they have more experience and this doesn't include most people who are more motivated, dedicated and hardworking. It's very strange.
Advice to Senior Management – I have had the best times of my life, working for your store. You have thought me so many things, your training is amazing, the way you treat your employees is exceptional. I just wish, you'd see other people's dedication and potential. And hopefully, give them more shifts.

Current Employee – been working at Banana Republic
Pros – Great co-workers, managers are easy to talk to, discount is general (you can use in all the Gap Inc companies)
Cons – pay is extremely low, sales support stuck in the front room for the whole shift and is not able to help with costumer in the fitting room
Advice to Senior Management – Banana Republic should really have a better rewarding program. Should have two sales supports at all times, so they can switch around instead of having only one person stuck in the front.

Current Employee – been working at Banana Republic
Pros – Great 50% off discount at BR and Gap well as 30% off at outlets and 25% off at old navy.
Job security is phenomenal. Seriously just sell, be nice, dress well and you'll have the job forever.
Managers are really nice compared to other stores.
Employee competence is good overall.
Cons – No benefits what so ever if you are a part time employee.
Managers sometimes make unrealistic goals for the day.
Advice to Senior Management – UPH definitely needs to go down drastically as the training does not provide
and adequate foundation for hitting a goal such as that.

Former Employee – worked at Banana Republic
Pros – Friendly work environment, including management, and coworkers. Management works with personal schedule, Provides good hours to workers. Nice back room. Good discount on merchandise.
Cons – Customers are sometimes elitist, or rude. Coworkers are sometimes pushy, or competitive with sales. Sales minimums are often very high,
Advice to Senior Management – Reviews of employees should occur more frequently. Monthly staff meetings should be held. Each store should have a staff comment box.

Current Employee – been working at Banana Republic
Pros – it's a big company that is well established in it's field. if you're really hungry for it there is a lot of opportunity for growth. their benefits are excellent and they do a great job supporting their employees with a passion for charity work.
Cons – the senior management seem narrow-minded and many in-store managers are under qualified. their staffing preferences result in some bad decisions that include the wrong people in the brand and exclude some great individuals.
Advice to Senior Management – be more open minded and sometimes critical of the brand. create a voice in the stores so that the head office can't ignore the real people that make the business work. stand up and make them appriciate us more. right now the average store staff memeber is indifferent to, or, even afraid of their district manager and those futher up the brand

Current Employee – been working at Banana Republic part-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Gap Inc. Is a great company that gives time and money to charity. the company is structured and pretty fair, they provide you with the tools to succeed
Cons – They just don't pay enough, thought they pay what most retailers are paying.

Current Employee – been working at Banana Republic part-time for more than a year
Pros – Can be fun and interesting. There are some great opportunities to learn and grow within the company. You meet some interesting clients (shoppers).
Cons – It is not always the most qualified and capable individuals who get promoted into management. There needs to be more work done in a) hiring managers who are dedicated to the job and take pride in their work and/or b) promoting from within with an emphasis on capability.
Advice to Senior Management – see above
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Banana Republic part-time for more than a year
Pros – Great working environment. Great co-workers. Excellent job which helps you elevate your wardrobe to be more professional, which is great if you're a college student seeking to eventually be a professional.
Cons – There are no cons that I can think of that are highlighted in my mind. I think the biggest downfall is when the store gets slow and there isn't much to do, and no one to help.
Advice to Senior Management – Advice to management would be to keep energy up when checking in sales associates because it sets the tone for their shift.
