    Pros

    Nurses are wonderful, caring, and hard working.

    Cons

    Leadership is more interested in "how they look" than doing actual work.
    Nurses are under appreciated.

    Pros

    If you find the right leader, you can grow and learn. You will work hard but it's all about your leader and team.

    Cons

    Used to be a place where people were concerned about the issue, not just how it looks. Some leaders are great and some do not have the core values you'd expect in this organization.. Also, resources are distributed based upon the past, not upon the need

    Pros

    Meaningful work with the opportunity to improve healthcare. The company provides good work-life balance through flex time and alternative work environment. The people are great--motivated, intelligent and cooperative.

    Cons

    Given the instability in the industry, having a clear strategy and plans to achieve it would be helpful. Presently, there are too many objectives with unclear priorities.

    Pros

    Tremendously supportive, progressive and professional.

    Cons

    In some instances, significantly behind the competition in terms of technology which can be challenging. Additionally, decision-making can often be swayed too heavily by political manipulation although that's often a reality of the healthcare industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Push harder on collaborative relationships now as opposed to continually giving in to maintain peaceful relations. I fear we may be setting a precedent that may have the potential to cause significant harm in the future.

    Pros

    Very work/life balance conscious. Good overall benefits, flexible schedule, etc. On the surface, a good place to work. Great immediate manager and coworkers.

    Cons

    Good managers are few and far between. Too many layers of bureaucracy slow down ability to accomplish change. Repeated second guessing by unqualified middle management is discouraging to subject matter experts. Poorly executed reorganizations drive away the good people and entrenches the old guard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Review the tenure of the most senior management. Don't hesitate to weed out the less than stellar middle management. Encourage all management to trust the subject matter experts and stay out of the weeds.

    Pros

    -Great experience which looks good on a resume.
    -Good place to get a foot in the door.
    -If you know or fraternize with the right people, you can climb the ranks fast, regardless of actual IT knowledge.
    -Get paid to sit in meetings and socialize most of the day. Do maybe 15 minutes of actual work. You will not be held accountable.

    Cons

    -IS hiring process is all about internal politics. The result is a very large group of employees who have absolutely no idea how to do their job, and pass it on to more experienced and knowledgeable , but less compensated co workers.
    -Job titles mean nothing, and is just an excuse to pay employees less.
    -1.5% annual raise. No opportunity for a merit raise.
    -Zero accountability.
    -Easier to get a promotion by leaving company and then returning than it is to simply get a promotion.
    -Massive management structure with far too much overhead. No one actually knows who is responsible for what.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -Get rid of the dead weight. The company is hemorrhaging money trying to continue to pay salaries of non-working analysts, senior analysts, and management.
    -Stop over-planning for projects to try and perfect them, and instead plan for elasticity in project planning to allow for change as time goes on.
    -Most management takes 2-3 hour lunch breaks and roams the office talking when they're not in meetings to discuss future meetings. This is a huge morale killer for those who are not making 6 figures to simply exist.
