I have been working at AutoZone full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Fair wages, good benefits, solid company.

    Cons

Some disconnect between levels of management. Dome report numbers change after fact....no one has confirmed answer as what changes sre caused by and what they really sre for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More clear and defined answers on report changes. More consistency in directions; while in other areas realize different areas of the country respond differently to promotions...one plan does mot always eork across the board..

I have been working at AutoZone part-time for less than a year

    Pros

You get to learn more about cars and make a mad costumer into a happy one. They work with you schedule. It is a pretty easy job.

    Cons

They expect you to be able to be able to do so much for such a low pay. It's not required for you to put a lightbulb or battery on another persons car but they make you go out there and do it. A bunch of the times you don't have much coverage when you need to get things done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should get more employees in every store. The managers should help out more.

I have been working at AutoZone full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Discounts, meeting new people, flexible for part time people.

    Cons

Pay not really for the job. Too much emphasis on certain sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the job your employees do well, not at your bonus check potential.

I have been working at AutoZone full-time

    Pros

Fast paced work environment, enjoy selling parts and doing installs. Pretty flexible with schedule.

    Cons

Pay is low compared to what others get paid. There is no actual training program . Upper management wants employees to be a door mat and let everyone walk over them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Back your employees up, pay more and you will retain good employees, have an actual training program not just throw us to the wolfs.

I have been working at AutoZone part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company seeks to promote from within, employees were a close-knit group, employee discount program is generous, semiannual review and raises

    Cons

Always pushing something (usually some gimmicky or unnecessary product), inventory replenishment system somewhat unreliable, if you have good management the job is great, bad managers make life miserable, and is it really a good idea to try to talk someone through a brake job that has never worked on their car?

I have been working at AutoZone part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I was amazed at the 1 on 1 interaction with customers you get immediately after hire. At first I was a little nervous to be interacting with customers so soon after hired, but then realized that the subject of automotive was right down my isle!! So I found myself not only exchanging information that was crucial to the outcome of how someones day was going with their car, but also found I really mattered in the advice I was able to offer them! You would not understand until you have seen that hopeful gleam in their eye and that all is not lost and they may actually be able to fix it afterall!!

    Cons

I truly believe now that if I can help someone with their vehicle at minimal cost, I will !! As per the busy store we work in we cannot get to everyone as effectively as I would want. Most times we get overwhelmed and there are not a great opportunity to answer technical questions as much as they arise daily.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If the overall duties of customer service is foremost to Autozone, then so it should be!! If as an Autozoner I were recognized for WOW or WITTGTJDR it would not only be nice but rather required by Autozone. So maybe there could be incentive for these acts and documented by management without just the same ol punitive judgement that employees are taking too long with a customer.
