I have been working at Arby's

    Pros

Good food. The owner of the franchise allowed us to eat whatever we wanted. This is of course because no benefits are given.

    Cons

Training was not sufficiently given to the owner. He had no idea what he was doing and the franchise allowed him to do whatever he wanted only because he was paying a franchise fee. Training was not sufficiently given and even if given, it really doesn't help to train the people to re-fry fries and leaving salads for more than 24 hours. No benefits are offered either. It is just one of the worst franchises to work for. It seems that the franchise do not really care about their name.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get yourself trained before you train others. Really check up on quality control as well.

    Pros

The managers and employees, I can only speak for the arbys on south park in winston Salem.

    Cons

The customers sometimes treat you like you know nothing because of your job so stay patient!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Arby's full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Work in the Richmond, VA franchise and the standard is extremely high for Arby's in central Virginia. Great people and leaders who help promote people from within.

    Cons

Outside of RVA franchise, corporate is very poor in service standards and quality. Very low standard set with uniforms, employees, and overall appeal to guest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't know if this has been put into place, however, a scholarship program for employees would be beneficial.

    Pros

Loved working here, I had great bosses. They are good about working around my school schedule.

    Cons

Limited to part time work so they don't have to pay benefits. Can't make enough to be independent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to reconsider the part-time vs full-time issue. You wouldn't have such a high turn over rate if you allowed full time for the crew.

I have been working at Arby's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Managers are great at doing their jobs!! The employees and managers are all very effective communicators!! I love that every manager I have had works with my school schedule both while I was in high school and while I was in college!!

    Cons

The customers are definitely a challenge. Sometimes they male your job harder than it has to be, but they don't do it on purpose, of course. Keeping the Drive-Thru timer where it belongs is STRESSFUL!!

I have been working at Arby's part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Pretty good management, mostly friendly environment, friendly coworkers, and advancement opportunities if you're a hard worker. Very flexible hours in my experience (usually pretty steady and fair hours) although any more than 40 is overtime and not allowed.

    Cons

Can get stressful during rush times, and as with any fast food job a lot of people just don't work out or quit– can be very stressful if you are low on staff as well. LOTS of cleaning to do (although from customer perspective this is good) can be very hard on your body if you're working 8hr shifts on the daily. Service times can be hard to hit during rushes, coupon drops can make your week a living hell. Customers can be rude occasionally.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect employees, cut some slack. Sales and service times are important but no one is perfect!
