Former Employee – worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – I loved working under Larry Beckmann - he was a great leader and it showed in his people! Very much respect - then when he retired - things went downhill. It was sad to see what he helped build from the ground up, start to crumble. Thought it was Anderson Packaging ...but looking at these reviews - perhaps it started with AmerisourceBergen.
Cons – When I left AndersonBrecon it seems we had alot of department heads with big dollar salaries - and not enough worker bees (who should have been making more). They were promoting people left and right - a lot of politics also...low morale - even had managers that didn't have a clue how to manager!
They had a handbook - but it amounted to "who's who" - they had different rules for different people!
Advice to Senior Management – Get your head out of their ass and walk the talk!!!!

Advice to Senior Management – Need to built the internship program even more.

Former Employee – worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Some of the people I worked with were great. Used to be like a family
Cons – Lot's of favoritism. Not a pleasant place to work anymore. Very low morale.
Advice to Senior Management – Make the people important. Without the hourly people, the company isn't any good.

Current Employee – been working at AmerisourceBergen full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – The people who are the backbone of the company are great people. Benefits are really good (medical, dental, 401k, etc.), good discounts to other vendors, Ford, Dell, Verizon, and so forth.
Cons – NO one cares what you think and changes are being made with no detailed plans. If you are older or have been with the company for a long time, you won't last long. They want to turnover the whole workforce and infuse it with new people. Education and experience are no longer valued, just do what you're told and keep your mouth shut.
Advice to Senior Management – Wake up and start listening to the people that are actually doing the work. Dump all the consultants and pay attention to the dedicated loyal people that have given you their blood, sweat, and tears. If things don't change soon not only will the turnover be out of control but every location will have a union.

Former Employee – worked at AmerisourceBergen full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Decentralized, autonomous. Dynamic, fast paced environment with variety. Decisions are almost entirely housed in the site for day to day operations.
Cons – Lack of resources, staffing limited, support limited, no advancement, long hours, low pay, no training or travel encouraged. The company allows each DC to work autonomously however this puts a lot of stress on those at the site. There are limited human resources which requires long hours and tough work life balance.
Advice to Senior Management – Connect DC's to corporate and have values match the real culture.

Current Employee – been working at AmerisourceBergen full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Good people to work with, benefits are good (i.e. medical/dental);
Cons – Top heavy, a lot of directors/VP's with little to no management experience (actual managing of employees), transparency / communication, work/life balance issues, employees afraid to speak up.
Advice to Senior Management – Allow your teams to provide you constructive feedback that will help enable the company to reach its goals. Use active listening to feedback provided and follow up to suggestions. Thank your teams publicly for the extra mile they go rather then expecting it. If you don't turnover will continue.
